Thiruvananthapuram: Malayalam actor Vincy Aloshious has officially filed a complaint with the Film Chamber against co-star Shine Tom Chacko, accusing him of inappropriate behaviour while allegedly under the influence of drugs during the shoot of their film. This follows her earlier Instagram post where she shared her unsettling experience without initially naming the actor.
Film Chamber general secretary Saji Nanthyatt said stringent action would be taken against the actor based on the complaint.
Aloshious has also complained to the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) about the misconduct of Chacko on the sets of the yet-to-be-released movie “Soothravakyam". AMMA ad adhoc committee convenor Jayan Cherthala said the association will extend all support to the actor on the issue.
Film Chamber General Secretary Saji Nanthyatt has assured that strict action will be taken against actor Shine Tom Chacko following the complaint. Vincy Aloshious has also approached the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) regarding the misconduct on the sets of the upcoming film Soothravakyam. Jayan Cherthala, the convenor of AMMA's ad hoc committee, has pledged full support to Aloshious in addressing the issue.
During a recent event tied to the “No to Drugs” campaign, Aloshious publicly declared her decision to no longer work with actors who use drugs on film sets.
In response to numerous enquiries about her stance, Vincy Aloshious shared an Instagram video detailing the inappropriate behaviour she and a female colleague experienced from a co-actor allegedly under the influence of drugs during filming.
Aloshious said when she had a problem with her dress on the set, the co-actor told her, “I'll fix it for you,” in front of everyone, creating an uncomfortable situation.
“He was also spitting a white powder from his mouth when the rehearsal for a scene was on. It was evident that he was using drugs on the set,” she said in the video.
Incidentally, Shine Tom Chacko was the other day acquitted in a 2015 drug case by the Ernakulam additional sessions court, citing procedural lapses on the part of the police during the drug seizure and the arrest.
Vincy Aloshious is a noted actor in Malayalam who had won the Kerala government's best actress award in 2023 for her role in the film “Rekha.”
