Saudi Arabia integrates AI education across all public schools this year

Saudi Arabia is ready to implement artificial intelligence (AI) education across all public schools starting from the upcoming academic year, marking a major step in its Vision 2030 initiative to boost innovation and global competitiveness.

The nationwide curriculum, developed by the National Curriculum Center in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), will introduce AI concepts to students from elementary level through to university, technical education and lifelong learning programs.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the curriculum features age-appropriate, interactive, and hands-on modules tailored for different grade levels. These modules are designed to build progressively from one academic stage to the next, ensuring continuity in skill development and robust student evaluation systems.

The initiative is aligned with the Human Capability Development Program under Vision 2030, which aims to create a future-ready workforce equipped with core values and high-level technical expertise.

The rollout follows SDAIA’s earlier announcement in April of an “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence” course for third-year general-track high school students. This pilot course will serve as a foundation for integrating AI across the broader academic landscape.

Saudi Arabia’s push to embed AI education at all levels reflects its ambition to lead in advanced technology and build a knowledge-based economy.
