Award-winning TV show The Bear to return for season 5
text_fieldsDays after the premiere of The Bear Season 4, the popular series has been renewed for another season. FX Chairperson John Landgraf announced the decision, citing the "spectacular" reception to The Bear Season 4.
"Year-in and year-out, Chris Storer, the producers, cast and crew make The Bear one of the best shows on television, and we are excited that they will continue to tell this magnificent story," said Landgraf in a statement to the media, TNIE reported.
The series, which is available on JioHotstar in India, follows Jeremy Allen White's chef and his battle to make his fine dining restaurant successful with his team. Christopher Storer created the series, which also stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Ayo Edebiri in major parts.
In the most recent season, Allen White, Moss-Bachrach, and Edebiri's characters are determined to transform their shop as they adapt to and deal with new obstacles that arise.
Abby Elliott, Liza Colon-Zayas, Matty Matheson, and Lionel Boyce also star in The Bear, with Molly Gordon and Oliver Platt appearing in recurring roles. The series' renewal puts an end to all doubt concerning its continuation, which had arisen as a result of the series' growing cast and scheduling issues. Moss-Bachrach, Edebiri, and Allen White have busy filming schedules ahead of them.
Allen White's next Bruce Springsteen biography, Deliver Me From Nowhere, is already being considered a serious Academy Award contender.
Moss-Bachrach is working on Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars while awaiting the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Edebiri's future projects include Luca Guadagnino's After the Hunt, which co-stars Julia Roberts, and James L Brooks' Ella McCay, which stars Woody Harrelson.
The Bear has earned the Best TV Show award from the American Film Institute for each of its three seasons. At the 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards, it also set a record with 11 wins, which is the most for a comedy series in a single year.
