Pahalgam retaliation! Indian Army kills LeT's top commander
text_fieldsSrinagar: In a retaliatory move for the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Army killed a top commander of Lashkar Lashkar-e-Taiba in Bandipora. It was an outfit, Resistance Front, with links to Lashkar-e-Taiba, which took responsibility for the attack on tourists in Pahalgam’s Baisaron valley.
It was LeT’s top commander, Altaf Lalli, killed. The army continues to search for more terrorists in the area.
The army had launched a massive search operation to trace the terrorists after the Pahalgam terror attack. On Friday morning, the army searched the area based on intelligence inputs. It was a joint team, including the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, who ran the search there.
Meanwhile, there was provocation from the Pakistani side at the border. National media reports citing military sources that firing was carried out from Pakistani military posts on the Line of Control throughout the night. However, the Indian army retaliated strongly. No casualties were reported on the Indian side.
The army is on high alert along the border in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people. Army has released sketches of two more terrorists involved in the terror attack. Security forces have identified four of the five terrorists. Two of them have been confirmed to be Pakistani citizens.
Meanwhile, the houses of two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists reportedly involved in the Pahalgam attack were destroyed in blasts in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday night.
The houses of Adil Hussain Thoker and Asif Sheikh were turned into rubble hours after the attack in Pahalgam, killing 26 tourists on Tuesday.
It is reported, citing sources, that explosives were kept in their houses, according to NDTV.
While Thoker, a native of Anantnag district, is among the key accused in the massacre, Sheikh, hailing from Pulwama, is reported to have been involved in the conspiracy.
