Trump gives Hamas ‘last warning’ to accept Gaza ceasefire deal

Washington: US President Donald Trump on Sunday warned Hamas to accept a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, declaring that Israel had already agreed to his terms.

“The Israelis have accepted my Terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning, there will not be another one!”

Hamas later confirmed it had received proposals from the US through mediators and was discussing them, though it gave no specifics. The group reiterated its readiness to negotiate the release of hostages in exchange for a clear declaration ending the war and a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.

Speaking to reporters on his return to Washington from New York, Trump said he believed a deal was imminent. “I think we’re going to have a deal on Gaza very soon,” he said, adding that he expected all hostages would be recovered, dead or alive.

Israel’s N12 News reported on Saturday that Trump had presented Hamas with a new ceasefire proposal. Under the plan, Hamas would release all 48 remaining hostages on the first day of a truce in return for the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, while negotiations on ending the war would take place during the ceasefire.

An Israeli official said the government was “seriously considering” Trump’s proposal but declined to comment further on its details.
