Etihad Airways to launch seasonal Abu Dhabi to Dhaka service from June 2026

Etihad Airways will introduce a seasonal service between Abu Dhabi and Dhaka from 26 June 2026, adding capacity on a route with sustained demand for both passenger travel and cargo movement.
The service will operate four times a week to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, strengthening links between the UAE and Bangladesh while supporting trade flows across South Asia and beyond.
Flights will be operated using Boeing 777 aircraft configured with 28 Business and 374 Economy seats. The aircraft will also provide substantial cargo capacity, supporting the transport of goods alongside passenger services.
The route is part of Etihad’s network expansion strategy, with capacity adjustments based on demand across key markets.
Chief Executive Officer Antonoaldo Neves said Dhaka remains a key destination for both passenger and cargo traffic, noting the importance of the route in connecting Bangladesh with the UAE and international markets. He added that the service will support trade flows, particularly for export sectors such as textiles.
Bangladesh’s economy continues to grow, supported by its garment and textile industry, which relies on efficient cargo links to markets in the Middle East, Europe and North America. The additional capacity is expected to improve logistics for exporters.
The UAE is home to a large Bangladeshi community, and the new route is expected to provide more direct travel options for families, as well as onward connections through Abu Dhabi.
The service will also improve connectivity for Bangladeshi diaspora communities in countries including the United Kingdom, Italy and North America, offering easier access to Dhaka via the UAE capital.
