Bengaluru: The wife of the murdered former Karnataka police chief searched online for details how a person dies when the veins and blood vessels near the neck are cut.

The prime suspect in the case, Pallavi, wife of retired Karnataka Director General of Police Om Prakash, searched Google for the information for five days before he was killed, India Today reported citing investigators, India Today reported.

Sending shock tremors across the state, Om Prakash was found dead with stab injuries at his residence in the city on Sunday evening.

Police have taken Om Prakash’s wife Pallavi and their daughter Kriti into custody.

A magistrate later remanded Pallavi to 14-day judicial custody and Kriti was taken to NIMHANS for psychiatric evaluation.

It is reported citing sources that when she was taken to the crime scene on Monday evening Pallavi reportedly mentioned ‘domestic violence’.

Before the police chief was killed, Pallavi claimed in messages she shared in WhatsApp groups that she was held hostage in her own home and complained of being under constant surveillance.

She also complained of repeated poisoning alongside expressing concerns for her daughter’s safety.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda has transferred the case to the Central Crime Branch (CCB), which will take over probe today, according to the report.
