Saudi pavilion wraps up IDEF 2025 with key deals, industry gains
text_fieldsSaudi Arabia has concluded its participation at the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025, held in Istanbul from July 22 to 27. The Saudi pavilion, led by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), included more than 10 national entities from both the public and private sectors.
The pavilion focused on showing Saudi Arabia’s growing defense capabilities. It attracted large crowds, including officials, defense experts, and investors. Visitors explored Saudi-made products, new technologies and ongoing efforts to develop a local defense industry.
GAMI Governor Eng. Ahmad Al-Ohali held several meetings with military officials and executives from top defense companies. These talks looked at ways to expand cooperation, share knowledge and support Saudi companies in entering global markets.
During the event, five memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed. Al-Esnad Factory signed three MoUs with Turkish firms MDH Makel, AKSA Group and Ayyazilim. The National Company for Mechanical Systems signed with MKE, while Intra Defense Technologies signed with SAĞLAMTEK. These agreements aim to boost joint projects and support industrial growth.
Turkish Defense Industries President Professor Haluk Görgün visited the Saudi pavilion and received a full briefing on GAMI’s work, policies and investment process. He also viewed the products and services of participating Saudi companies.
The pavilion also shared details on investment incentives and how new investors can enter the defense sector in Saudi Arabia. GAMI officials provided information on how national companies are being supported through clear policies and cooperation between government and private firms.
GAMI said the Saudi participation met its goals. These included building stronger global ties, promoting local industry, and attracting interest in Saudi products and technologies. All efforts support the country’s long-term plan to build a strong defense sector that contributes to both national security and economic growth.
