UAE expat among 26 killed in Kashmir terror attack

Neeraj, who worked in the United Arab Emirates, was visiting India on vacation. After attending a wedding in Shimla, he travelled to Kashmir with his wife for a holiday. The couple, who had been married for two years, were staying in the region when the shooting occurred.
At the time of the attack, Neeraj visited the valley while his wife remained at their hotel. She escaped unharmed and later informed the family of the tragic loss.
The attack affected tourists from several Indian states, including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Odisha, as well as visitors from Nepal and the UAE. Two local residents were also reported among the dead.
Authorities have condemned the incident as a heinous act of terrorism and investigations into the attack are ongoing. Security has been heightened in the region as officials continue to monitor the situation.
