UAE-based on-demand fuel delivery provider Cafu has reinstated delivery charges for its services, ending the free delivery model it adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A company spokesperson confirmed the update to Gulf News on Wednesday, stating that the revised fee structure takes effect immediately. The move, Cafu says, is aimed at improving service quality in response to rising demand for flexible and reliable fuel delivery options.

Under the new pricing structure, customers will be charged Dh20 for priority delivery within 20 minutes, Dh16 for standard delivery within two hours, and Dh12 for overnight delivery between 12 am and 6 am.

“This small change helps us meet growing expectations and continue innovating in line with customer needs,” Cafu said in a newsletter circulated to its users. A more detailed announcement from the company is expected.

Cafu initially launched in 2018 with paid delivery options, offering either per-order fees or a monthly subscription. The company dropped these fees in July 2020, as a measure to support customers during the pandemic.

Since then, Cafu has expanded its operations to include a range of mobile services, such as car washing, battery replacements, oil changes, tire support and EV charging. The company also caters to corporate clients, providing on-site refueling and vehicle maintenance for fleet operators, as well as emergency fuel delivery services.

The reinstated fees mark a strategic shift in Cafu’s service model as it seeks to sustain operational enhancements and future growth.
