The United Arab Emirates and Qatar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on labour and human resources cooperation during the 11th Meeting of GCC Labour Ministers in Kuwait.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, UAE Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, Qatar’s Minister of Labour.

The MoU sets a framework for enhanced collaboration between the two countries in legislation, expertise exchange and joint initiatives related to employment and workforce development.

Officials said the deal will advance training projects, strengthen jobseeker registration systems, and support the rehabilitation of national workforces. It also expands cooperation under the Abu Dhabi and Doha Dialogues on migrant labour governance across Asia, Africa and the GCC.

Both sides agreed to form special committees to launch initiatives, exchange experts for technical advice and share labour market data, research and legislation. They will also increase joint participation in international conferences and seminars on labour affairs.

The move aligns with GCC Labour Ministers Committee recommendations and reflects the two countries’ commitment to strengthening regional and international cooperation on employment policies.
