Indian game developer Underdogs Studio has unveiled gameplay footage for Mukti, their upcoming narrative-driven adventure game set to release on PC and PlayStation 5.

The game, which transports players to mid-2000s India, revolves around exploring a museum and uncovering clues about the past.

Mukti is being developed under Sony’s India Hero Project and is now available to add to wishlists on both Steam and the PlayStation Store.

In Mukti, players assume the role of Arya, a young woman investigating her grandfather’s mysterious disappearance. Drawing inspiration from narrative exploration games like Firewatch and Gone Home, the game offers a first-person perspective as players navigate a large museum in Mumbai, gathering clues and piecing together the story behind Arya’s quest.

The recently released first-look trailer shows pre-alpha gameplay captured on a PS5, highlighting Arya moving through the museum, interacting with pamphlets, clues, and the surrounding environment.

“Being a part of Sony India Hero Project didn't just give us fuel to bring our vision to life, it also reaffirmed our belief that Indian stories belong on the world stage,” said Vaibhav Chavan, founder and CEO of Underdogs Studios and the game’s director. “Now, we're thrilled to finally give you a glimpse of what we've been crafting behind the scenes.”

Mukti will be optimised for PS5 and PS5 Pro, featuring 4K resolution, haptic feedback, and adaptive triggers utilizing the DualSense controller’s capabilities.

The studio has also shared tentative PC system requirements for the game:

Minimum Requirements:

OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)

Processor: Intel Core i5-9400F or AMD Ryzen 5 3500 or better
