Saudi authorities have arrested several individuals in separate operations across the Kingdom as part of an intensified national campaign to combat drug smuggling and trafficking.

In Najran, officers from the General Directorate of Narcotics Control apprehended two Saudi citizens accused of selling amphetamine. The suspects have been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action, authorities confirmed.

Meanwhile, Border Guard land patrols operating in the Al-Rabou’ah sector of the Asir region intercepted three Ethiopian nationals. The individuals were arrested for violating border security regulations and attempting to smuggle 45 kilograms of qat, a banned narcotic stimulant in the Kingdom.

The latest arrests underscore Saudi Arabia’s firm stance against narcotics and its commitment to safeguarding the country’s borders and public health. Authorities continue to call on the public to support anti-drug efforts by reporting any information related to smuggling or trafficking.

Residents in Makkah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province can report by calling 911, while those in other regions are urged to dial 999. Anonymous tips can also be shared with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control by calling 995 or emailing 995@gdnc.gov.sa.

The government emphasized that all reports will be treated with strict confidentiality.
