India's Rubina Francis clinched a bronze medal in the women's air pistol SH1 event at the Paris Paralympics on Saturday, continuing the nation's impressive performance in shooting.

Rubina achieved a score of 211.1, securing third place in the final, which featured eight competitors. Earlier in the day, she had qualified for the final by finishing in seventh position during the qualification round.

This bronze marks India's fourth medal in shooting and the fifth overall at the Paris Paralympics.

India's success in shooting was highlighted on Friday when Avani Lekhara made history by successfully defending her women's 10m air rifle gold medal, a feat she first accomplished at the Tokyo Paralympics. Additionally, Mona Agarwal won a bronze medal in the same event.

India's medal tally in shooting continued to grow as Manish Narwal earned a silver medal in the men's 10m air pistol (SH1) event. In the SH1 classification, athletes can hold and fire their guns without significant difficulty, and they compete either from a standing position or while seated in a wheelchair or chair.
