Shefali Jariwala had been undergoing anti-ageing therapy for years before sudden death: sources
text_fieldsActress and model Shefali Jariwala, known for her iconic appearance in the 2002 music video Kaanta Laga and reality shows like Bigg Boss 13, passed away late Friday at the age of 42.
Sources have revealed that she had been undergoing anti-ageing treatments for the last five to six years.
According to individuals familiar with her medical background, Shefali had been taking cosmetic therapy aimed at enhancing skin texture and preserving a youthful appearance.
NDTV reported that the treatment primarily included the use of Vitamin C and Glutathione — the latter known for its skin-lightening and detoxifying properties.
A medical professional clarified, "Glutathione is a drug used for skin fairness and detoxification. These medicines do not have a direct impact on the heart and are purely cosmetic treatments." The cause of her death, however, remains unknown at this stage and will be confirmed only after the results of the forensic and post-mortem examinations, expected on Saturday by 11 AM.
Shefali reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest at her Mumbai home. Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, rushed her to the hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. Visuals from outside the hospital showed a distraught Parag in tears. The family has yet to issue an official statement.
Shefali Jariwala first rose to stardom with Kaanta Laga, which became a pop culture phenomenon. She went on to appear in the Bollywood film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi alongside Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. In later years, she focused on television, taking part in Nach Baliye with her husband and appearing in Bigg Boss 13. Her time on Bigg Boss was widely talked about, particularly due to her past relationship with the late actor and fellow contestant Sidharth Shukla.
