The CBI told Jharkhand High Court that the district judge, Uttam Anand who was killed in July was intentionally hit by the autorickshaw driver. The investigation agency arrived at the conclusion by reconstructing the crime scene, examining the CCTV footage and analysing forensic evidence.

The investigation is in its final stages and CBI is corroborating forensic reports with physical evidence to complete its case. Two accused - driver Lakhan Verma and his helper Rahul Verma - will also undergo brain mapping, narco analysis, and lie detector test.

The CBI report "conclusively suggests that the judge was intentionally hit". Four separate forensic teams from Gujarat's Gandhinagar, Delhi, and Mumbai, assisted the CBI to analyse the evidence, reported NDTV.

The court had expressed annoyance at the slow pace of the probe. The CBI said that the investigation into the conspiracy behind the murder is going on.

Judge Uttam Anand (49) was killed on July 28 while he was on the morning run. The CCTV footage showed that the vehicle was rammed into him. Locals found him lying in a pool of blood and took him to the hospital. He was declared dead on arrival.

Judge Anand was handling several cases of mafia killings in Dhanbad. He had earlier rejected bail for two gangsters. The Supreme Court took the case on July 30 and said that it had "wider ramifications".
